My interest Massage therapies started 3 years ago whilst researching Holistic therapies, whilst looking at ways of improving flexibility and general well being. I have maintained an active lifestyle through pursuits of the sporting nature i.e. Boxing, Running, Cycling, strength and interval based training as well as Yoga. My objective is to work in a health based environment in which I can provide good relations, whilst delivering knowledgably high standard service to the clientele. Through the skills that I have gained, I would hope to further continue my development and knowledge throughout the Holistic community. Swedish massage -uses techniques such as kneading, friction, hacking, cupping, and vibration. Long smooth strokes are aided by the use of a lotion or massage oil. This type of massage is good for relieving pain and muscle tension and helps with the removal of lactic acid and other waste from the body. The benefits include pain relief and an increase in flexibility and mobility. Rubbing and kneading also work to improve circulation, bringing fresh oxygen to the bloodstream and transferring valuable nutrients to the rest of your body. Sports and remedial massage - works on many levels and each client is seen individually with massages tailored to their needs. It can benefit not just sports men and women, but is also suitable for office workers and those more sedentary amongst us! Massage is administered as an aid to recovery from injury, helps prevent injuries, promotes faster recovery after training and maintains a healthy musculoskeletal system. Deep Tissue Massage - This massage uses slow movement, deep pressure, and friction to realign muscles and connective tissues. The therapist focuses on areas of pain and tension and works to break up scar tissue. Some find this type of massage to be painful at times; however, you are guaranteed to feel better afterwards. A Deep Tissue massage is recommended for sore shoulders, a stiff neck, tightness in the lower back, or any other extremely tense areas. Besides alleviating pain it also aids in the release of toxins stored in the muscles, improves circulation, and loosens muscle tissue. Muscle Energy Technique (MET) - is a collective name for a variety of techniques that stretch, strengthen or break down fibrous adhesions. A muscle energy technique is one in which the patient's own effort and movement, rather than that of the therapist, provides the primary force in treating the problem. Above techniques can be added to Sports, Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage. Introductory offer - all treatments £25 per hr. | |||||
