I am a qualified UKCP registered counsellor/psychotherapist experienced in working with a range of emotional issues. Sometimes it is hard to understand and say what is troubling us. Counselling is an opportunity to be listened to and heard, in a way that helps us to make sense and understand our feelings, thoughts and behaviours better.

I work in a way that meets the unique needs of each person, helping them to find their own way forward and to make positive changes in their lives.

Everyone is unique and not everyone's needs are the same, as an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist, my approach incorporates different theories and models, giving me the flexibility to meet those complex and diverse needs.

I have undertaken extensive training to understand, what makes us who we are, how we think and feel about ourselves and the impacts this has on how we relate to others. Where our anxieties and fears come from and how these can be worked through to reduce the impact these may have on our lives.

Learning, understanding and healing is also unique to everyone and the process may take longer for some than others, I work short term with current problems, working through your reactions to a distressing or stressful event or longer term working towards a deeper understanding of yourself, why you feel the way you do, what you feel about others and the things that happen to you.

Further Information
I have gained my experience within the NHS, the voluntary sector and private practice.

I deal with most issues and have specialised knowledge of the issues relating to HM Forces.

I understand and have experience of working with trauma, how this impacts on our lives and the effect this has on those who work and/or care for someone who is traumatised.

I belong to a professional body (UKCP) that understands the need for safety when we feel vulnerable and ensures that I have met and will continue to meet a high standard of requirements in order to continue to practice, this includes continued professional and personal development and supervision.
